Terms of Use
Last updated: July 30, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Chess AI app ("the app") published by Hensu LLC. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
The app
Chess AI lets you play chess against an on-device engine and, with an optional subscription, receive AI-generated coaching on your games. The app is provided "as is." Chess analysis and coaching are for learning and entertainment; we don't guarantee any particular result or rating improvement.
Subscriptions
Chess AI offers auto-renewable subscriptions:
- Platinum — $7.99/month or $59.99/year. Unlimited AI Game Review, retry training, and a monthly allowance of advanced-AI deep reviews.
- Diamond — $12.99/month or $99.99/year. Every review by our most advanced AI, plus the cross-game Coach's Overview.
Prices are in U.S. dollars and may vary by region; the exact price and billing period are always shown on the purchase screen before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
Auto-renewal: a subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device Settings → your name → Subscriptions at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms; we cannot issue refunds directly.
Free use
The app is fully playable without a subscription or an account, including all puzzles and lessons and one AI Game Review per week.
Acceptable use
Don't reverse-engineer the service's backend, abuse the coaching endpoints, or use the app to break the law. We may suspend accounts that do.
Accounts & data
An optional account backs up your games and coaching. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
Open source
The app's client is released under the GPL-3.0 license (it embeds the Stockfish engine). The "Chess AI" name and the coaching backend service are not covered by that license.
Changes & contact
We may update these Terms; material changes will be noted by the date above and in the app's release notes. Questions: admin@hensu.co.
